Day 4 Breakfast and departure to one of the Pearls on the Southern Black Sea coast –Nessebar. The most picturesque town of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. A narrow winding promontory connects the ancient town with the mainland. Today the visitor can see over 40 churches in an area of half a square kilometre. Free time and overnight. Day 1 Arrival at Sofia, meeting and assistance from representative of Lale Tour and transfer by coach to the town of Koprivshtiza, one of the best–preserved towns in Bulgaria. Its typical 19th century atmosphere and the beautiful nature surrounding it make this town one of the most favoured destinations for all visitors to the country. Accommodation, folklore dinner and overnight Day 2 After breakfast - panoramic tour of Koprivshtiza and drive to Ethara - open air-acting museum for arts and crafts and Bojenzi village, leisure time, accommodation, dinner and overnight. Day 3 After breakfast you will be acquainted with Bojenci - legends, history, the unique architecture. Lunch on the road and departure to the old town of Veliko Tirnovo – the old capital of Bulgaria. Day 4 Breakfast and walk through old and extremely picturesque Veliko Turnovo- the medieval town of Tarnovo was the capital of Bulgaria during the 12th - 14th centuries period and included the castles situated on the Tzarevetz, the Trapezitza, the Momina Krepost and the Sveta Gora Hills and the downtown (the outer suburb). The main medieval fortress was erected on the Tzarevetz Hill. The two main architectural complexes are in the centre - the King';s Palace and the Patriarchal Church. The most important part of the outer town, called the New Town (the present Assenov Quarter) was built in the 13th century along the two banks of the Yantra River between the two hills - the Tzarevetz and the Trapezitza. Afternoon visit to the neighboring village of Arbanassy – a past residential area of the King’s bolliars /landlords/. Departure to Plovdiv through Jeravna village – presenting the typical old Bulgarian architecture, completely preserved while inhabited with the status of a national architectural reserve. Arrival in Plovdiv, accommodation, dinner and overnight. Day 5 Breakfast and walk around the old town of Plovdiv / observing change of history starting from Roman times/. Bulgaria';s second largest city, Plovdiv, is a worthy rival to Sofia. Its location astride the River Maritsa, and its three hills which are prominent features on the Thracian plain, indicate its strategic significance and account for its long tradition as an inhabited place. Here Thracians, Romans, Byzantines, Ottoman Turks and Bulgarians have all made an architectural impression. Late afternoon departure from Plovdiv to Bansko, accommodation, dinner and overnight. Day 6 After breakfast walk in the town for seeing the picturesque architecture of Bansko /XVIth century, lunch on the road and departure to Melnik by coach. The town attracts lots of Bulgarian and foreign tourists with its pyramids shining, golden-yellow, whimsical, shaped on the background of magnificent Pirin mountain. 380 m. over the sea level, MELNlK is rich in cultural monuments - pledge and tombstones, architectural details, coins, etc. During the Traction- epoch here existed a village of the Thracian tribe "medi" which gave the world the great leader of the Roman slaves - Spartacus. Accommodation, dinner with meals from Bulgarian national cuisine and wines in a typical Tavern. Overnight. Day 7 Breakfast and tour around the smallest, but perhaps the most picturesque town in Bulgaria and its unique architecture. Visit to the Rozhen Monastery - "Rozhdestvo Bogorodichno" is to be found 6 km east of Melnik. It is built in 1220 in the place of an ancient pagan consecrated ground by despot Aleksiy Slav. In 14 – 17 c. it is a spiritual cultural and literary centre; a calligraphic school works here. During the years of Ottoman rule the monastery is turned into a cloister of Iver Svetogorski monastery (till 1912). Departure from Melnik to Sofia via Rila Monastery and late afternoon arrival in Sofia. Accommodation, dinner and overnight.
